As for the timline some ppl complained about..

U should be aware that every code change - given that you know what needs to be changed - needs to be properly tested. So you'd actually have to run the calculation procedure for the points on a relatively large set of data to be sure to capture any cases. That in itself takes hours, so you're basically coding during the day, kick it off, go home and come back in the morning to check the results, and then it's 20 goto 10.

Writing the code isn't what takes so long, it's properly testing it that eats up the time.

So, yeah, take your time to fix it pls.

It was nice of them to give us this free income. So it's not very well and needs to take a break for some TLC. I'm glad of the freebies I had from it, and will be glad again when it returns.

In the meantime, there's still the easy goodies to be had from Nicholas, and a nice boost to extra points of various kinds courtsey of the Zaishen.

Well if the newspaper Ad from "Fast Food Franchise" states you get a free toy with every "Happy Meal" purchase, but the menu at the fast food joint does not mention the free toy, you order the happy meal and pay for it, do you expect and are you entitled to the free toy?

As this analogy may be difficult to understand for some... The point is you can advertise about your product on all sorts of media, and make claims about your product. Just because these claims are not listed on the box the product came in, does not limit the manufacturer's obligation and responsiblity to live up to and meet all claims made in all its advertisments.

I don't think ANet even has that option, because they don't have a proper testing software environment. Remember how many of the recent game bugs were of the "Oops, once it went live these problems showed up for the first time" variety...

Yeah, obviously im the sad one because i dont buy accounts to make in game gold LOL.

However you look at it, its just buying gold for real life money, bottom line. Its just thought to be "acceptable" because its "taxed" as such (anet get money from the accounts sold).

Sad.

Well, grinding in the game 24/7 for a couple of weeks to get your r9 Silverwing.. is this sad? I have to say no.

If you have the extra cash and you want to spend 4.99 for an account so you can spend less time grinding... is this sad? again I have to say no.

Its never "sad" if you do what you do cause you can and you enjoy it, and what you do is within the rules of the game you play. People need to stop imposing their own opinions and points of view on how to play the game on others. Please refrain from deriding how other people spend their time and money, this kind of behavior is the only thing that is "sad".

Take your time and fix it as best as you can. I'm looking forward to trying this out for the first time and a little bummed that I don't get too for awhile. Although this in no way reduces my ability to play or enjoy the game. So no big deal.

Personally, I don't mind waiting for my points or waiting for them to fix the XTH to work correctly before reinstating it but, there is nothing free about XTH predictions.

Somewhere along the line we/someone paid money for every campaign that predicts and the ones that don't take part in the predictions. I'm happy to participate and look at it as a nice addition to our GW experience.

However, I have 2 accounts. One is the one I play and one is for if/when I put a second pc together. Then I can try out 6 heros, have a ton extra storage, more character slots, etc. For now, I predict on that second account(May is the first time).

A-Net designed the XTH so that people who buy more accounts get more in-game gold by selling their keys or using their keys to open chests. Some people on this forum have mentioned their 14 accounts or their 6 accounts or whatever.

These are the people who have something to be... what's the word... Angry about.
The rest of us can be disappointed, peeved or put off because a feature of the game experience is broken but our game money is still well spent.

Thank you for information Regina!

I never think, Hunlai prizes is good thing, there is something wrong with it. Hunlai prizes must be like zaishen coins - not sellable.
For z-keys is time for same pvp or pvp like actions^^

i agree with you on the fix it and yes itll take some time but my only problem they should have done this before they implemented it the first time which obviously they didnt

I can't say i'm not disappointed by your decision to close down XTH (mostly coz i have just acquired a bunch of z-key farming accounts), but i'm glad you guys are trying to work out al the kinks and bugs.

Hope to see it back in a short while!

has anyone (who hasnt already mentioned it and has filed the support thingy) gotten their points yet??
I have yet to get mine, and no news from the support team (not that I had anticipated getting any even before it was mentioned that they would be working on it for everyone)
so any news as to when or if we will get those points?

I'd like to know this as well. I sent in a ticket, and got a response along the lines of "we're aware of the issue and are working on it". I know Regina posted in this very thread that they have the info for what SHOULD have been the correct point distribution, but is there any idea on WHEN that will be put into place?

They still have the info, so it sounds logical that we will get the points when everything works again and there's no elapsed time on that.
Magic, obviously.

Hunlai? Are you sure you've been playing this game for 3+ years?

Hope you'll fix it before July's AT's, A.Net.

Default At least no new info is no incorrect info...

It's been 10 days since my support ticket, and no reply there. It's been almost as long since Regina has posted here. It would be nice if some sort of update to the situation was posted.

Also, I don't really care about the bickering back and forth about XTH good or bad. There seems to be flaming with anything GW, this, BMP, storage, stylist, the list goes on... But let's get one thing clear: There is NOTHING in Guild Wars that is free! Even for those of you under the age of eighteen who received your game as a gift, someone paid for it.

I have Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. At $50.00 per campaign, that's $200.00 of real money. I've also purchased all said campaigns for both of my children and my wife. That's $800.00 just in campaigns. I've purchased all skill unlock packs for these accounts and the Pet Menagerie (spelling?) as well as other upgrades I can't even remember.

Basically I've spent over $1,000.00 to take full advantage of EVERYTHING Guild Wars has to offer. If that alone does not entitle me to expect ArenaNet to fix these problems in a timely fashion, then I ask you...What does?

This is what I received from my support ticket on June 21st. Im assuming that this was in some way automated.

"As you are aware, the distribution of May Xunlai Tournament Points took place on June 18th. Unfortunately, a problem developed during the distribution. Many players received their points, but some players appear to have received the incorrect number of points, and others did not receive any points at all, even though they did make predictions.

The dev team is currently reviewing the situation in order to determine the best means to correct the problem. The team will need a few days to settle on and implement a resolution. In the meantime, we greatly appreciate your patience as we address the issue."

Obviously the XTH was not open for June, so we are waiting patiently and hoping it will be open for the July Tourney.
